Preparing for gender-affirming surgery is about more than obtaining a letter.

It's about preparing for a meaningful next chapter of your life.

While documentation may be required by your surgeon or insurance provider, it shouldn't feel like another barrier standing between you and the care you're seeking. My hope is to offer something different.

You don't need to convince me who you are.

When we meet, my role is not to determine whether you're "trans enough." My role is to listen with care, understand the journey that has brought you to this moment, and thoughtfully translate your lived experience into the clinical documentation needed to support your care.

During our consultation, we'll talk about your goals for surgery, the path that has led you here, the support available to you, and your plans for recovery. Some of these conversations are part of the documentation your surgeon or insurance provider may require.

They are not questions with right or wrong answers.

They are the conversations from which I build documentation that reflects your experience while meeting the standards your care team needs. I believe you deserve to understand not only what I'm asking, but why I'm asking it.

Because documentation is only one page in a much larger story.

The people who sit across from me are not simply preparing for surgery. They are preparing for life more fully as themselves. That threshold deserves more than paperwork. It deserves care that is collaborative, transparent, thoughtful, and grounded in trust.

What to Expect

Your consultation is a dedicated 90-minute appointment designed to provide both the documentation you need and the opportunity to ask questions, discuss your goals, and feel supported throughout the process.

The consultation includes:

  • A comprehensive 90-minute gender-affirming surgical consultation

  • Review of documentation requirements for your surgeon or insurance provider

  • A personalized letter prepared to meet current standards of care

  • Coordination of revisions if requested by your surgeon, when clinically appropriate

  • Clear communication and transparency throughout the process

My goal is for you to leave our time together with more than a completed letter.

I hope you'll leave feeling informed, respected, and confident as you move toward this next chapter of your life.

If this approach resonates with you, I'd be honored to support you through this meaningful step.

Beyond the Letter offers affirming surgical consultations that transform required documentation into an experience of collaboration, transparency, and care.
