Do you offer virtual and/or in-person appointments?
Yes. I offer both secure telehealth appointments and in-person appointments at my office. During scheduling, you can select the option that best fits your needs.

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Gender-affirming surgical consultations are scheduled for 90 minutes to allow time for thoughtful conversation, clinical assessment, questions, and preparation of documentation.
Therapy Services
What issues do you work with?
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity exploration, life transitions, relationship concerns, LGBTQIA+ experiences, and gender-affirming care. My approach is grounded in relational, somatic, and affirming therapy that honors each person's unique lived experience.
Do you specialize in LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming care?
Yes. Supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and gender-diverse clients has been an important part of my clinical work for many years. I strive to create a therapeutic space where people feel respected, understood, and supported without needing to justify or defend who they are.
Insurance & Payment
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I am in-network with:
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
Aetna
Cigna
United Healthcare
For clients using out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to understand your specific benefits.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept most major forms of electronic payment, including credit cards, debit cards, and other payment options available through my secure client portal.
If you have questions about payment options, please feel free to reach out before scheduling.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
If your plan allows, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) may be used toward eligible healthcare expenses.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that life happens and schedules sometimes need to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed appointments will be charged the full session fee.
Gender-Affirming Surgical Consultations
What is a gender-affirming surgical consultation?
A gender-affirming surgical consultation is a dedicated appointment for individuals seeking the clinical documentation often required before gender-affirming surgery.
This 90-minute consultation provides the documentation needed by many surgeons and insurance providers while creating space for thoughtful conversation, questions, and preparation for this important step.
Is this an evaluation to determine whether I'm "trans enough?"
No. My role is not to determine whether you are "trans enough."
My role is to understand your journey, listen to what has brought you to this moment, and provide thoughtful documentation that reflects your lived experience while meeting the requirements of your surgeon or insurance provider.
Do I need to identify as transgender to schedule a gender-affirming surgical consultation?
No. You do not need to use a specific label or identify in a particular way in order to seek gender-affirming care. I welcome individuals across the gender spectrum, including those who identify as transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, gender expansive, or who use other language to describe their experience.
Our consultation focuses on understanding your individual experience, your goals for care, and the documentation needed to support your surgical journey.
Do you provide gender-affirming surgical consultations for nonbinary, genderqueer, and gender-diverse individuals?
Yes. I provide gender-affirming surgical consultations for individuals across the gender spectrum, including those who identify as nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, or in other ways outside of traditional binary frameworks.
Your identity does not need to fit a particular narrative or follow a specific path in order for your experience to be understood and affirmed.
Our consultation is focused on understanding your individual experience, your goals for care, and the documentation needed to support your surgical journey. My role is not to compare your experience to a specific expectation of gender, but to thoughtfully reflect your lived experience while supporting access to the care you have chosen.
What happens during the consultation?
During our time together, we'll discuss the experiences, goals, and preparation that are relevant to your surgical care.
This may include your goals for surgery, your understanding of the procedure, available support systems, plans for recovery, and any questions or concerns you may have.
Some of these conversations overlap with information your surgeon or insurance provider may require for documentation. These are not questions you need to answer "correctly." They are the conversations from which I create documentation that accurately reflects your experience and supports your care.
How much does the consultation cost?
The gender-affirming surgical consultation fee is $325.
This includes the 90-minute consultation, preparation of your documentation, and follow-up communication related to your letter, including revisions requested by your surgeon when clinically appropriate.
How quickly will I receive my letter?
My goal is to complete documentation within 48 hours following your consultation whenever possible.
If additional information or clarification is needed, I will communicate that with you directly.
Will my letter meet my surgeon's requirements?
Letters are prepared using current professional standards and tailored to the documentation requirements provided by your surgeon or insurance provider.
If revisions or additional information are requested, I will work with you to make clinically appropriate updates whenever possible.
What surgeries can you provide documentation for?
Documentation may be provided for many gender-affirming procedures, including chest surgery, genital surgery, facial gender-affirming procedures, and other medically necessary gender-affirming interventions, depending on your individual circumstances and the requirements of your healthcare team.
Do I need to be an ongoing therapy client?
No. You do not need to be an existing therapy client to schedule a gender-affirming surgical consultation. This service is available as a standalone consultation.
What if I've never been in therapy before?
That is completely okay.
Many people seeking gender-affirming surgery are not looking for ongoing therapy—they are seeking the documentation required as part of their surgical care.
My goal is to make this process clear, respectful, and supportive.
Do you offer gender-affirming surgical consultations for clients outside of Illinois?
I welcome inquiries from individuals seeking gender-affirming surgical consultations outside of Illinois. Because requirements and regulations can vary based on location, the nature of the consultation, and your surgeon's documentation requirements, I will review your specific situation to determine whether I am able to provide services.
If you are located outside of Illinois and are interested in a consultation, please reach out so we can discuss your needs and next steps.
What if my gender identity or experience does not fit a traditional narrative?
Your experience does not need to follow a particular timeline, pathway, or story in order for your identity or care to be valid.
Many people seeking gender-affirming surgery have experiences that do not fit traditional expectations of gender, transition, or identity development.
Our consultation is not about comparing your experience to a specific template. My role is to understand your individual journey, the care you are seeking, and the information needed to thoughtfully document your experience in support of your surgical care.
What if my surgeon requests revisions?
If your surgeon requests revisions or additional information, I will work with you to address those requests whenever clinically appropriate.
Revisions requested by your surgeon are included as part of the consultation process. My goal is to support a smooth documentation process and help reduce unnecessary barriers to care.
I'm feeling nervous about the consultation. Is that normal?
Absolutely.
For many people, this appointment represents more than completing paperwork. It may be part of preparing for a significant life transition.
My hope is that you leave our time together feeling informed, respected, and supported—not evaluated or judged.
You do not need to arrive with the perfect words or a perfectly organized story. We will begin where you are.
